The community of River Vale, New Jersey in Bergen County consists of a small unassuming town known for it's Golf Courses and manicured green lawns a plenty. It's not uncommon to get a glimpse of the beautiful wildlife as seen here on River Vale Road in front of the Edgewood Country Club.
Established in the early 1900's, the Township of River Vale is rich in History and has remained one of the most unassuming towns in the Pascack Valley region. It's quiet yet upscale personality boasts three Golf Courses as well as the town center known to many as "The Four Corners" where the two main roads of River Vale Road and Westwood Avenue intersect to provide the town with shops, banks and local food stops. In recent months this section of town has begun to grow with additional areas designated for future shops.
This is the place that I, Lisa, remember growing up. Walking to the town center known as the Four Corners with friends or one of my three sisters, I remember a simpler time when walking to grammar school was what I did. Having grown up on the South side of River Vale, I walked to Roberge School which covers grades K-5. Children on the North end of town attend Woodside. All meet at Holdrum School for grades 6-8 and then move up to Pascack Valley High Schoolto join the children from the town of Hillsdale. Of course this was where I first met my husband, Bob!
This beautiful town of River Vale has undergone some changes in the form of updates to the town center as well as the River Vale Public Library. The town celebrated it's 100 year River Vale Centennial in a year long celebration a few years ago.
